Rootstock’s decentralized, RIF-backed stablecoin is now a supported asset on Bitcoin’s non-custodial vault infrastructure, expanding what’s possible for onchain continuity on Rootstock.
BΔLT, the Bitcoin Autonomous Legacy Trust, is a non-custodial, decentralized vault protocol built on Rootstock. It enables users to lock Bitcoin-native and Rootstock-native assets into what the protocol calls Continuity Vaults: programmable, transparent structures for long-term asset management with no central intermediary.
Unlike custodial platforms that hold assets on a user’s behalf, BΔLT puts control entirely onchain. Every vault, every position, and every continuity rule lives in smart contracts; visible, auditable, and censorship-resistant. Users retain full self-custody at every stage.
BΔLT was built and launched by JXLabs, the independent R&D unit within Jonxsoft, a software company founded in 2014 with deep expertise in enterprise systems. JXLabs was created in 2024 with a single focus: building decentralized tools and protocols native to Bitcoin.
BΔLT was developed and deployed on Rootstock, Bitcoin’s smart contract layer, leveraging merge-mined security and EVM compatibility to bring programmable logic to Bitcoin-backed assets without leaving the Bitcoin ecosystem. Smart contracts are written in Solidity, deployed on the RSK Virtual Machine, and have been independently audited by Coinspect, a recognized blockchain security firm.
BΔLT was developed with support from RootstockCollective. JXLabs submitted a formal grant proposal and successfully completed all three funded milestones, from beta launch and smart contract audit through to mainnet deployment and user onboarding.
The three milestones covered:
This grant history reflects BΔLT’s deep alignment with the Rootstock ecosystem and its commitment to building transparently, with community accountability at every stage.
“The RootstockCollective grant process gave us a very clear and well-structured path: from KYB, to the off-chain governance proposal, and finally to the on-chain proposal through the RootstockCollective dApp. What stood out the most was the quality of the community.
Delegates were responsive, engaged, and genuinely committed to helping builders grow the Rootstock ecosystem. For teams like JXLabs, grants like this are essential to move from vision to real infrastructure.” – Jonathan Bravetti, CEO, JXLabs
BΔLT already supports several Bitcoin-native and Rootstock-native assets:
And now, USDRIF joins this list.
USDRIF is now live on BΔLT as a supported collateral asset. Users can create Continuity Vaults denominated in USDRIF, bringing dollar-pegged stability to BΔLT’s onchain vault infrastructure for the first time.
This means you can now open a Continuity Vault with a stablecoin that has no central issuer, is natively Rootstock-based, and is backed by RIF, all while maintaining the full non-custodial, transparent architecture that BΔLT is built on.
USDRIF is a decentralized stablecoin native to the Rootstock ecosystem. Here’s what makes it distinct:
In a stablecoin landscape dominated by centrally issued assets like USDC and USDT, USDRIF represents a different model, one that preserves decentralization while offering the price stability that practical DeFi use cases require.
Decentralized stablecoins are a cornerstone of credible onchain infrastructure. When protocols rely on centrally-issued stablecoins, they inherit counterparty risk, regulatory exposure, and the possibility that assets can be frozen or blacklisted at the issuer’s discretion.
By adding USDRIF, BΔLT takes a principled step: offering dollar-denominated vault capabilities without introducing any of that centralized risk. Users who want to manage their continuity structures in a dollar-pegged asset can now do so using infrastructure that is:
For long-term Bitcoin holders, protocol operators, and DeFi participants on Rootstock, this is meaningful infrastructure, not just a new token option.
“JXLabs came to the RootstockCollective with a clear vision and the discipline to execute it. Watching BΔLT grow from a grant proposal into audited, live infrastructure — and now adding USDRIF as a supported asset — is exactly the kind of compounding progress we want to see from builders in this ecosystem. Decentralized stablecoins on non-custodial infrastructure aren’t a nice-to-have; they’re foundational to what Bitcoin DeFi can become.” – Eleanor Gaywood, Ecosystem Director, RootstockCollective
With USDRIF live on BΔLT, users can:
Whether you’re planning long-term asset continuity, securing a digital legacy, or simply want a non-custodial dollar-denominated vault on Bitcoin’s smart contract layer, USDRIF on BΔLT opens a new dimension of flexibility.
Beyond the consumer-facing vault product, JXLabs has developed BΔLT Pro, an enterprise-grade continuation of the same non-custodial principles, designed for companies, protocols, institutions, DAOs, and ecosystem builders that need customizable digital asset continuity infrastructure at scale.
BΔLT Pro is delivered as a professional services and implementation model, covering smart contract development, frontend or platform integration, security audits with Coinspect, and long-term technical support. Enterprise clients can define programmable continuity logic for their own specific assets, roles, and governance models, without ever giving up custody.
Use cases include:
Unlike the standard BΔLT vault model, BΔLT Pro Enterprise does not charge a per-vault creation fee. The model is built on professional services, implementation scope, and ongoing support, making it suitable for organizations that need to deploy continuity infrastructure at scale.
“BΔLT was created to make digital asset continuity fully non-custodial, transparent, and accessible on Bitcoin’s smart contract layer. The addition of USDRIF is an important step in that direction: it gives users dollar-denominated stability without compromising decentralization. For us, every new supported asset should expand utility while staying aligned with the principles that make Rootstock and Bitcoin unique.” – Jonathan Bravetti, CEO, JXLabs
The addition of USDRIF is part of BΔLT’s broader mission: to build the most comprehensive and decentralized vault infrastructure on Bitcoin’s smart contract layer. Every new asset added to BΔLT is selected for its alignment with the protocol’s core principles, decentralization, transparency, non-custodial design, and Bitcoin-first values.
USDRIF fits naturally within that framework. It brings dollar-denominated stability to BΔLT without compromising the integrity of the protocol.
As the Rootstock ecosystem grows, BΔLT will continue to expand, adding supported assets, improving user experience, and extending into enterprise infrastructure through BΔLT Pro.
